Winston-Salem, NC – March 28, 2012 – America’s best loved doctor is a doctor of chiropractic medicine practicing in Landover, Maryland. Dr. Allen Huffman, of Sport & Spine Rehab, had an overall score of 9.86 out of 10 on the DrScore.com online patient satisfaction survey site, based on 180 ratings from his patients. We celebrate him and the thousands of other doctors who received 9 or higher ratings in 2011 on this Doctor’s Day.
“It’s an honor to receive this year’s Best Doctor award,” said Dr. Huffman. “My professional focus is to ensure that each and every one of my patients receives exceptional care at each and every visit. DrScore’s online survey has helped me and my colleagues do this by empowering us to understand our patients’ expectations, experiences, and implement immediate and continuous improvement efforts year-wide. We care deeply about our patients, and this award exemplifies that care and commitment.”
DrScore’s online survey enables patients to anonymously rate their experience with their doctors on a range of topics, including the doctor’s care, professionalism and communication and the clinic at which the patient was seen. The DrScore survey, which is recognized as validated by the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research, was developed by its CEO, Dr. Steven R. Feldman, a practicing dermatologist at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, and Dr. Roger Anderson, a public health professor at Penn State Hershey College of Medicine and one of the world’s leading patient satisfaction academic experts. The survey and its reports are used by thousands of doctors and medical practices throughout the country to improve the care they provide their patients. Nearly 240,000 ratings have been filled out on the DrScore site, giving doctors and medical practices valuable benchmark data that drives care improvement initiatives.
Huffman and his colleagues at Sport & Spine Rehab have dedicated themselves to obtaining feedback from their patients through DrScore’s online survey tool and acting upon that feedback for over three years. The doctors at Sport & Spine Rehab consistently rank as the nation’s top doctors and this year is no exception to that rule. Along with Huffman, Drs. Jennifer Davis and Everett Scott of Sport & Spine Rehab also received top ratings.
“At our practice, exceptionalism is an expected trait of our doctors,” said Dr. Jay Greenstein, CEO, Sport and Spine Rehab. “We actively work with our doctors to ensure that the evidence-based care they provide their patients is optimal, and DrScore’s reports are a key component of our continuous improvement initiatives. Our doctors are dedicated to providing the best possible care to their patients; the ratings we receive from DrScore support our dedication and focus on this key component of patient care.”
The DrScore survey, which is validated by the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research, is used by outpatient medical practices throughout the country to measure and respond to patient levels of satisfaction with medical care. Clients of the online survey company include Tenet Healthcare Corporation, Oregon Medical Group and Crystal Run Healthcare. DrScore’s survey is also approved for use by the American Board of Dermatology to satisfy Component 4 of Maintenance of Certification for board-certified U.S. dermatologists.
